“The book “Central Asia, Discovered through interpreting” is written by the well known professional in the field of interpreting Artur Ambartzumyan, whom I know for the past 10 years as a great freelance conference interpreter and translator.
I can say this is my first experience reading the book which was made by interpreter from Central Asia region sharing his experience and knowledge to support interested companies and individuals to find professional interpreters and translators in 5-stan countries.
The book is highly recommended both for those entering Central Asia market and require professional linguist support as well as for the people who require interpretation/translation assistance on the permanent basis.”

“«Hire right, because the penalties of hiring wrong are huge.» - Ray Dalio.
Any successful business starts with finding the right people. And finding the right interpreter is undoubtedly no exception. In his book, Artur, in a terse and informative form, covered the main points related to searching and working with interpreters in such an exciting and significantly different in terms of mentality from the Western world region like Central Asia. Understanding the characteristics of the region is an experience that can indeed only be gained over the years. On the other hand, after spending 30 minutes reading this book, you can learn about working tips and tricks that can probably save time, money and reduce stress while dealing with local specialists. Great job, Artur!”

“For those having business relations with the Central Asian countries this book is a must have, if you don't speak local languages. The author did his best in providing insights on hiring translators and interpreters in details, including cultural and financial aspects. You know as they say - forewarned is forearmed, so get the book if you plan having negotiations in the Central Asia.”

“If you ever travel to non-English speaking country, this is a must have guide. Even though it says Central Asia on its cover, I’m sure, it will be helpful in other countries as well. I personally don’t want to find myself around some crooks, waiting for foreigners to get extra bucks for their “service”. And I also don’t want to pay extra for so called “official translators”, simply because official doesn’t always mean good in some countries. If you need a really good interpreter, you need to be prepared in advance. This book gives you step by step guidance how to get one, no matter what is the purpose of your trip, whether it’s leisure or business. Especially business, since you may need to establish a long term relations. I’m sure you don’t want to rely on interpreter, provided by your local business partner. So, do yourself a favor by being prepared before your international trip.”
